Your safety matters. Follow our guidelines for a secure and enjoyable shooting experience.

General Safety Rules & Etiquette

Muzzle Management: Always keep your muzzle pointed in a safe direction.
Trigger Finger Discipline: Always keep your finger off the trigger until you are on target and ready to fire.
Know the status of your firearm/s.
Identify your target and what is around it.
Ear protection and wrap around eye protection are required to be worn at all times while firing.
When cleaning firearms, always check both visually and physically to see that it is unloaded.

Follow any additional specific safety guidance provided by the instructors and range staff.
You are expected to use good judgement, and to refrain from attempting any exercise, which you may not be able to perform safety, based upon your own ability, equipment, prior training, or physical condition.
Remember: Everyone has the responsibility for range safety.

Do's & Don'ts at GIRTR Range

Who can shoot

Pistol shooters must be 21 years of age or older, or be supervised by an adult, 21 years or older. Rifle shooters must be 18 years of age or older; except as follows: Children under 18 may shoot when supervised by an adult, 21 years or older.
Customers between the ages of 10 to 12 years old are restricted to .22 cal.
All minors below the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult, 21 years or older, at all times.
Minors may not be left unattended in any part of the facility.
Minors under the age of 10 years old are not permitted in active firing range area.
If you aren't a Texas resident, you can shoot at our range but must need our age and ID requirements.
If you aren't a U.S. citizen, bring government-issued ID or passport to shoot at our range.
Pregnant women are advised to consult with their doctor or practitioner prior to engaging in any shooting activities.

Guns, gear & ammo

Maximum handgun caliber .50 AE
Maximum rifle caliber .308 or any caliber that has less than 3000fps muzzle velocity.
No full-auto weapons are allowed without prior approval/reservation. NFA paperwork is required.
No shotguns are allowed.
During certain events or activities shotguns are allowed with SLUGS only.
No black powder is allowed.
No steel core, steel rounds, zinc rounds, magnetic rounds, or tracers are allowed in the range.
Class 3 weapons, NFA items, must have paperwork in order to be used in the range.
Protective gear is mandatory at all times.
Ammo and firearms must be inspected prior to going into the range.
Firearms must be cased or holstered prior to entering the range.

Preparation

Every person going into the range must have our waiver of liability signed.
Every person checking into the range must have a valid physical photo ID.

No food or drinks allowed in the range.
No opened toes shoes allowed in the range.

When at the range

Obey the 4 cardinal rules of gun safety.
Controlled, continuous fire is allowed.
No hip shooting is allowed.
Dry fire practice is allowed in the stall.
No manipulation of firearms behind the firing lane.
During certain events and activities, it is allowed drawing from the holster, shooting on the move and shooters may go beyond the red firing line.
Rifles might be shot from a standing, kneeling or sitting position at the discretion of the RSO.
Over the ears ear protection and safety glasses must be always worn on a live range.
Shooters may not consume alcoholic beverages or drugs (including prescriptions and over-the-counter medications) before or during live firing. The Supervisor, Range Manager, or RSO will deny range access to anyone in violation.

Step 1 - Prepare

Before going to the gun range, fill out the Range Safety Waiver and bring a valid ID or passport.

Step 2 - Check In

At the check-in desk, you’ll find a selection of rental handguns & rifles, ammo, and gear—everything you need for a fun day. Our friendly staff will help you choose your equipment and show you how to use it. Static range time is available by the day, and dynamic range and shoot house are offered at hourly rates.

Step 3 - Have Fun

Enjoy your time on the range and remember to respect other shooters. Listen to the Range Safety Officer’s instructions. If you’re new, don’t be shy to ask questions or seek help. We’re here to ensure you have a good time!
