Hands-on training for the whole family
If you keep firearms at home, it makes sense for everyone under your roof to know how to handle them safely. Our Basic Handgun and Rifle Safety courses are designed so parents and youth can learn the fundamentals side-by-side. It’s the perfect foundation, especially for families with youth who are interested in getting into shooting sports down the line.

AGE LIMITS
Ages 10 to 12
The minimum age to shoot at our range is 10 years old. Shooters in this age bracket are allowed to shoot .22 LR caliber firearms only.
Ages 13 and up
Teens aged 13 and older are welcome to shoot any caliber firearm on the range. We have a great fleet of rental guns in 9mm, 5.56, 380 ACP and more.
Supervision
All youth shooters below the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, 21 years or older, at all times, both on the shooting lanes and during any gun classes.

Our basic gun classes are beginner-friendly and are designed for all ages, so all youths are more than welcome to attend our standard Basic Handgun and Basic Rifle Safety courses. If you are searching for child gun safety classes in the Dallas – Fort Worth area, our fundamentals courses are the perfect starting point for your family.
You can begin teaching gun safety concepts at a very young age, but live-fire shooting should wait until the child is mature enough to follow commands. For live-fire training at GRITR Range, the starting age is 10 years old.
Yes! You can book a one-on-one private training session with our certified instructors for $100/hr. A parent or guardian must be present, making this a great way to receive personalized, family-friendly firearms instruction.
